The Jefferson Council on Aging
is pleased to announce the opening of its Aging & Disability
Resource Center (ADRC).
In partnership
with the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs, and the Department
of Health and Hospitals and in conjunction with the statewide initiative LouisianaAnswers.com,
the center will link adults living with disabilities, senior citizens,
and caregivers to the information they need to improve their health,
independence, and quality of life.
The center recognizes the need for greater information and education
on services for seniors and adults with disabilities and will be
providing outreach as well as inviting volunteers and community
participation on collaborative efforts from both the public and
private sector. The Jefferson Council on Aging’s ADRC will
serve the greater New Orleans area including the parishes of Jefferson,
Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard.
The center will serve as an information access point for long-term
services and support systems and will provide information on public
and private programs and promote awareness of community based service
options.
